Barbados was more than just a tropical escape—it was a complete reset for my heart, my business, and my mindset. I had the incredible honor of attending the WeddingPro Insiders Mastermind Retreat with my business coach, Candice Coppola, and a small, mighty group of talented women in the wedding industry. It was a week of inspiration, soul work, strategy, sunshine, and more laughter than I ever expected. I knew I’d come home refreshed, but what I didn’t expect was just how transformed I’d feel—personally, professionally, and emotionally.
One of the highlights of the retreat for me was presenting on a topic I’m so passionate about: “Post with Purpose.” I spoke about the importance of showing up on social media not just for the algorithm or the aesthetics, but with intention and authenticity. So often we get caught up in what we think we’re supposed to post, but I wanted to encourage my fellow business owners to dig deeper—to share the heart behind the brand, to speak to the clients they really want to serve, and to understand that when we post with clarity and confidence, it becomes a natural extension of our purpose. Being able to lead that conversation, in such an encouraging and honest space, was both empowering and humbling.
Of course, the beauty of Barbados itself played a huge part in how grounded and present I felt. I started each morning with a peaceful walk on the beach, the waves lapping at my feet as the sun rose—those quiet moments became a daily reminder of how important it is to slow down and reconnect. We enjoyed drinks on the beach at sunset, toasted to big dreams, and swam with sea turtles (yes, Tommy the turtle was my favorite!). Those moments reminded me that joy is just as important as hustle. That fun, laughter, and community fuel our creativity and renew our energy in ways we don’t even realize we need.
But if I had to name my very favorite part of the retreat, it would be the time I spent with Candice Coppola. Being coached by Candice is already such a gift, but spending real, uninterrupted time with her in person? Game-changer. We had deep conversations about the future of my business, Ledgewood Fine Stationery, and I was able to uncover even more clarity about where we’re going next. With her guidance, I leaned into the pieces of the business I’m most passionate about—high-end, intentional design, strong client relationships, and a continued focus on the art of timeless, luxury wedding paper goods.
This retreat gave me the chance to zoom out and see the big picture again. It helped me remember why I do what I do, and that showing up—online, in my business, and in my life—with purpose, passion, and authenticity will always lead me exactly where I’m meant to go.
Barbados will forever hold a special place in my heart, not just for the sunshine and sea turtles, but for the growth, the clarity, and the sisterhood I experienced there. I’m heading into this next season of business with a full heart and a clear vision—and I’m so excited for what’s to come.
