Tying the Knot: Holiday Engagements

Here's my personal story... the first Christmas Brent and I spent together I just was so HOPEFUL for a proposal. Even though he told me he would not propose on a holiday. I mean.... he could be trying to throw me off, right?! As we exchanged thoughtful gifts (I sewed him a QUILT!) and shared laughter, a part of me longed for that extra special moment – a proposal that would forever tie our love to the enchantment of the holiday season. I found myself daydreaming about a ring hidden in a velvet box beneath the Christmas tree or a heartfelt question asked amidst the soft glow of candlelight. However, as the holiday festivities unfolded, Brent didn't pop the question. Instead, he gifted me a business card holder with my MAIDEN name on it. OUCH! I mean, the thought was there, I LOVED my job at our local stationery store... so it was a good thought. But, man I wanted my future last name... LEDGEWOOD! Our first Christmas together became a chapter in our love story, laying the foundation for the many more holidays we would share. The anticipation lingered as I ended up having to wait MUCH longer before he popped the question. Little did I know that our journey held countless surprises, and each Christmas became an opportunity for us to create cherished memories as a couple.

If this holiday season doesn't bring the anticipated proposal, remember that your love story is a beautiful journey with its own unique timeline. Sometimes, the most meaningful moments are worth waiting for. (I know from experience!! Our proposal is a story for another day... another blog!)
